Phentermine and PCOS? I have PCOS and no matter what I do I keep gaining weight. I'm 5'4" and a year ago I weighed 150. A little thick but happy. Last November I weighed 165. I keep gainining and gaining! I've been exercising and dieting for as long as I can remember! Right now I weigh 185. I am SO depressed. I'm getting married this November and I keep trying to lose weight but all I am doing is gaining. I don't know what else to do. I'm about ready to try anorexia! Nothing else will work! I don't even want to leave the house because all I see is skinny women. I don't want to watch TV or read magazines anymore because all I see is skinny! Last time I went shopping for clothes I started crying in the dressing room. My question is: Will Phentermine work? I'm taking metformin but it's not making a difference. Do I need to see an endocrinologist? How do I get it? I'm not morbidly obese ( I'm a 14) but by the weight gain isn't showing any signs of stopping. I'm so depressed! My gyno has been treating me but I'm thinking about finding a new doctor. He said I'm not losing weight because I'm eating 1200 a calories a day. He thinks I should eat only 900 even though I am exercising. I don't agree.

oscar replied: "Phentermine does work, however, it is dangerous. You do need to see an endocrinologist ASAP. Hormones are not a thing to mess around with. There could be underlying issues such as thyroid, diabetes etc. please see endocrinologist soon or at least consult your GYN they might be able to point you in the right direction. good luck"

Lady E replied: "I have pcos and go through rapid weight changes also. Mine aren't that extreme and I am able to keep fairly regular but everytime I get off bc I gain weight fast and easily. I feel for you! I would agree about the endocrinologist though. They can do a lot more to control pcos and also to help with fertility issues. Ask your doc. for a recommendation and they should set you up with an apt. I know it's cliche but don't let your worry over your appearance take away the joy of your wedding. (like 2 in the past year) Well IVe been wanting to lose some weight for a while, and it seems like every time I lose 4-5 LBS i start my period. Does it help that my aunt is his nurse? lol. but besides that is it safe considering my age and what not? what are other good persc. diet pills? middnight_starr replied: "At your age Adipex (phentrimine) is probably not a good idea, but there is a chance depending on your weight that a dr might prescribe it. I have been successfully taking it on and off since april and I have went from a size 22 down to a size 16(lol just bought my first 16's b4 christmas YAY) however there is a chance that it might react with any meds you are taking for the PCOS so make sure the dr you see knows about ALL medication you are taking on a daily basis. Phentermine? Taking with thyroid and PCOS.? Advice on taking it, how did you feel. Aslo if you had the above conditions how did you feel. Did a doctor prescribe it or did you get it on the internet.

Never take Phentermine with any other drugs beacuse your body will feel terrible and it is unsafe i took phentermine and i lost 6lbs in 1 week and the whole week i had too much energy and i didnt get any sleep i didnt even have to excercise that much i had headache i had to remind myself to eat i mean that pill just wipe out your huger cell of the brain i couldnt take the pill everyday i had too take it once every three days so i can keep some sleep and when i slept i slept for a long time but you will lose weight at a fast pace but you know what like 2 weeks later i gain the weight back the only how you will lose weight is stay on the pill but once you are off you have to really excercise cause the weight comeback quicker than it fell off and i also had some hair loss just a little so i gave up losing weight with a pill you cant have your body for ever so i just stay active im not doing pills no more i did hydroxycut too and the side effects were the same but with hydroxy i did a lotta throwing up i hope i was a help to you"
